She spent her life working towards the betterment of society, spreading the message of “serving mankind is serving the lord.” She restored faith in humanity by rejuvenating the virtues of love, care and compassion towards each other. At the age of 18, she deserted the pleasures of life and became a nun to help poor. After Mother Teresa arrived in India, she began her journey working as a teacher. She was saddened about the misery of people in Calcutta suffering through poverty crisis which led her to start a new order “The Missionaries of Charity” with the primary objective of helping destitute people.
