
Another three teams, comprising about 100 men each, are on standby.
"As on date, total 8 fully equipped search and rescue teams of NDRF shall be available for any response in case of floods in the Kashmir Valley," a statement from the NDRF headquarters here said.
"In view of the impending threat of the flood disaster, two teams each are in the process of being deployed in North and South Kashmir and four teams are being deployed at Central Kashmir," it said.
The force has rushed in from Delhi a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) rank official to hold the fort in the Valley and coordinate operations in this regard, a senior official said.
