Amar, Ritwik set to take up challenge in 'Dare 2 Dance'

Hosted by Bollywood celebrity Akshay Kumar, the reality show will see 10 contestants showing up their skills in extreme conditions of Capetown, South Africa.

"We didn't restrict it to Indian dancers. We have given chance to international dancers as well to present their skills. It will be a learning experience for contestants both domestic and international as they will be dancing under the water, mid air, ice skate and fire. It's a challenge for them," Akshay said.

Two contestants Emille Callion and Scarlett Wilson have been roped in for the Life Ok! Show, which will go on air from September 6.

The other Indian participants include 'Mahabharat' actress Sayantani Ghosh, 'Dil Dosti Dance' contestant Alisha Singh, 'ABCD' actor Mayuresh Wadekar, Kathak dancer Karan Pangali and Prince.

Akshay would be seen donning various hats on the show from a friendly host, mentor, and singer to a camera man.

The channel said it is in talks to sell the right of its eight-episode show to a Europen company after the series gets over.

"In India, the reality shows which we see on TV are all adaptations of international shows. This is the first time that we have conceptualized a show and western countries are interested in it. Few days ago, I got a query from a European company to get its right as they are quite impressed with the promos. We are yet to decide anything on it," Ajit Thakur, general manager of the channel, said.

Bobby Deol to do small screen debut

Bobby Deol
A source associated with the project says, “The makers are keen to have Bollywood actors in the cast since B-Town debutants on TV attract attention. After the Anil Kapoor show, 24, and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Yudh, channels are keen to rope in film folk for finite episode shows.”

Sources say that the makers are currently in talks with Bobby for the project.

“He has apparently given a nod to the project and if all goes well, things will be finalized soon. They intend to make an announcement soon,” the source added.

The makers feel that the show will be an ideal launch pad for Bobby’s television debut.

“It will be a slick detective series; he will do well in the show since the character suits him,” the source said.

Bobby remained unavailable for comment.
