Amar, Ritwik set to take up challenge in 'Dare 2 Dance'

Hosted by Bollywood celebrity Akshay Kumar, the reality show will see 10 contestants showing up their skills in extreme conditions of Capetown, South Africa.

"We didn't restrict it to Indian dancers. We have given chance to international dancers as well to present their skills. It will be a learning experience for contestants both domestic and international as they will be dancing under the water, mid air, ice skate and fire. It's a challenge for them," Akshay said.

Two contestants Emille Callion and Scarlett Wilson have been roped in for the Life Ok! Show, which will go on air from September 6.

The other Indian participants include 'Mahabharat' actress Sayantani Ghosh, 'Dil Dosti Dance' contestant Alisha Singh, 'ABCD' actor Mayuresh Wadekar, Kathak dancer Karan Pangali and Prince.

Akshay would be seen donning various hats on the show from a friendly host, mentor, and singer to a camera man.

The channel said it is in talks to sell the right of its eight-episode show to a Europen company after the series gets over.

"In India, the reality shows which we see on TV are all adaptations of international shows. This is the first time that we have conceptualized a show and western countries are interested in it. Few days ago, I got a query from a European company to get its right as they are quite impressed with the promos. We are yet to decide anything on it," Ajit Thakur, general manager of the channel, said.

Bobby Deol to do small screen debut

Bobby Deol
A source associated with the project says, “The makers are keen to have Bollywood actors in the cast since B-Town debutants on TV attract attention. After the Anil Kapoor show, 24, and Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Yudh, channels are keen to rope in film folk for finite episode shows.”

Sources say that the makers are currently in talks with Bobby for the project.

“He has apparently given a nod to the project and if all goes well, things will be finalized soon. They intend to make an announcement soon,” the source added.

The makers feel that the show will be an ideal launch pad for Bobby’s television debut.

“It will be a slick detective series; he will do well in the show since the character suits him,” the source said.

Bobby remained unavailable for comment.

AR Rahman foresees an industry in motion capture technology

AR Rahman
"Like there is Hollywood and Bollywood and the industry for south Indian films, there can be an entire industry on films made with this technology," he said at the audio launch of 'Kochadaiiyaan', directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya R Ashwin.

He recalled how the film's director Soundarya had put in efforts into making it and said he was sure it would succeed.

"When I came to Chennai from US, Soundarya told me about 'Kochadaiiyaan' which she said would get over in a year. I was wondering how and I took a week. By then, Rajini Sir had called up and I realised the kind of efforts going into this film. Then I decided to go ahead," Rahman said.

Motion or performance capture technology helps filmmakers record the movements of the actor -- in specially made suits, which capture the emotions, gestures and body language of the actor and translates it into animation.

Karishma Tanna injured on sets of 'Tina and Lolo'

Karishma Tanna injured
“Since this is a full-fledged action film, it required the female lead to perform some heavy-duty action sequences. It was during one of these sequences that Karishma was injured. She was supposed to flip over Sunny Leone’s back and kick her but she applied a lot of strength and landed on the hard floor, hurting her knee,” says a source.

Interestingly, she is not the first one to get injured on the sets of this film. Recently, Sunny Leone was hurt while shooting another action sequence.

As per reports, Karishma replaced Minissha Lamba, who did not accept the offer as she was not comfortable doing a kissing scene with Sunny Leone in this film.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan had injured himself on the sets of Farah Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’ earlier this month.
