Why good home-care health system is needed in rural areas

A month ago, my mom, who is 92, fell in the lavatory and broke her pelvic bone. I live in the provincial town of Phaltan in western Maharashtra and to complete a straightforward X-beam was a bad dream.

The driver of the rescue vehicle additionally bent over as the paramedic and his hard and non-sympathetic disposition practically broke my mother`s heel. He practically tossed my mom on the stretcher! The greater part of the ambulances in rustic zones resemble that with barely any office to help the patient. I needed to utilize an old saree to attach my mom to the stretcher with the goal that her broken pelvis did not shake in particular.

At the doctor's facility, after a decent arrangement of belligerence, we completed her X-beam rapidly. Else it takes everlastingly to complete it. Since the pelvic bone was cracked, the specialist exhorted finish bed rest and instructed us to take her home. In such cases, there is no surgery required yet outright bed rest so that the broken bone recuperates without anyone else. That is additionally the motivation behind why I didn't take her to Pune for treatment. Bulk whatsapp sms service provider

We brought her home and were quickly faced by the stark reality of who will deal with her nursing needs. We attempted to find nursing care in Phaltan yet were unsuccessful. Indeed, even the doctor's facilities don't give that office. The relatives of patients do that in most country healing facilities.

Congress, BJP slam Nitesh's anti-Gujarati rant

"Nitesh Rane's tweet is his personal statement. As far as Congress is concerned, our party never endorses such irresponsible statements and ideology," said Gujarat unit party spokesperson Manish Doshi.

"Congress is always against dividing people in the name of language and territory. Any citizen of India can live and earn his livelihood anywhere in India," Doshi said.

Gujarat BJP General Secretary I K Jadeja registered a strong protest against the "anti-Gujarati" rant by Nitesh, son of senior Congress leader Narayan Rane, terming them as "cheap mentality".

"Narayan Rane's son has revealed his cheap mindset. Just like people from other states gave their contribution in the development Gujarat, Gujarati community gave their contribution in the development of Maharashtra. Thus, to have such mindset against Gujarati community is highly condemnable" Jadeja told reporters.

Nitesh, a first-term MLA, kicked off a storm saying that he wants to begin Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean India' campaign from Mumbai by cleaning the city of all Gujaratis who hate Marathis.

"Wanna take part in Swacha Bharat abhiyan n start from mumbai!! Wanna start cleaning up all the Marathi hating gujjus from there once for all," Nitesh posted on Twitter.

PMO asks Shiv Sena for two names to be included in Modi government

"We have got a call from the Prime Minister's office requesting us to recommend two names that we feel should be included in Modiji's cabinet. Though we have several names, Uddhavji will send his recommendation by tomorrow morning," a Sena MP said, requesting anonymity.

The offer of ministerial berths to Sena at the Centre, coming as it does after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis made it clear that no Shiv Sena minister will be inducted into his ministry before it wins trust vote on November 12, is being seen as an attempt by BJP to humour the former ally into backing the government during the floor test.

While BJP had insisted on Sena first helping it sail through the trust vote, the latter wanted at least some of its ministers included in the Fadnavis government before November
12.

Though both sides have claimed power-sharing talks were in progress, they have not yet been able to sort out the differences over Sena's demand for deputy chief ministership and 2:1 share of ministries.

Heavy Industries Minister Anant Geete is the lone Shiv Sena Minister in the Union Cabinet and the party has often complained about having been neglected by BJP at the Centre.

The Sena MP said though Uddhav would send the names of MPs to be included in the Union government tomorrow, it should not be "misconstrued" as indication of it being prepared to relent on its demands in Maharashtra.

"Please do not equate the demands made by our party to the Central and the state governments. Our demands are different on different levels. We are firm on our demands as far as the state is concerned," he said.

Poll code no barrier to give aid to affected farmers, says Gopinath Munde

Gopinath Munde
“There is no need to take permission from the Election Commission to provide financial aid to the affected farmers during the code of conduct,” the Beed Lok Sabha MP said.

Munde was speaking at a press conference at the BJP office in Beed.

The state government has a right to take suo motu decision on financial assistance to the farmers, the former deputy chief minister said.

Due to hailstorm and unseasonal rains in the last eight days, standing crops like wheat, jowar, sunflower, pulses and vegetables suffered heavy damage in several parts of the state particularly Vidarbha and Marathwada, he said.

This is not a normal natural calamity. Hence, the Centre and state government should declare a special package for the affected farmers, Munde said.

The government officials should quickly assess the damage so that relief is promptly provided to agriculturists, who do not have any other source of income, he added.

Raj Thackeray plans to stitch alliance with regional satraps in Maharashtra

Raj Thackeray banking on regional partiesAs Maharashtra’s assembly election is slated in October this year, Raj wants to make his own third front with the help of state satraps with an aim to hurt political prospects of NDA and UPA as well.

The MNS chief has already completed first round of talks with his counterpart of the Peasants' and Workers' Party (PWP), which has a strong presence in the coastal region of Konkan and has four MLAs in the Maharashtra assembly.

He has also cosied up with Jan Surajya Party (JSP), which has a good influence in various parts of Western Maharashtra having two MLAs, and a member of legislative council in Nasik, Apoorva Hiray.

These small parties are not in a position to field candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, but if they offer support to MNS’ candidates then it could be a hammer-blow to the prospects of both UPA and NDA.

Raj is likely to declare the names of few Lok Sabha candidates from his party on March 9 at the foundation day of MNS.  All these MNS candidates would be those who had garnered more than 1.25 lakh votes in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

If the MNS succeeds in its mission, it will prove big hurdle for national parties in the assembly elections.

In the 2009 Assembly elections, MNS had fought on 143 out of 288 seats in Maharashtra, winning 13 seats and was successful in stopping BJP-Shiv Sena coalition to form government.

Maharashtra appoints vigilance committees for foodgrain distribution

Representational picture
"We have appointed vigilance committees to keep a close watch on unloading and distribution of foodgrains. We have also asked tehsildars and sub-divisional officers to undertake regular monthly inspections and hold meetings in this regard," Food and Civil Supplies department secretary Deepak Kapoor said.

Till now the vigilance committee was only on papers. But henceforth, for the prevention of black-marketing and malpractice during the implementation of the scheme, these committees will play a vital role in distribution of foodgrains to the beneficiaries, he said.

"The next important step which we have taken is, if a ration-card owner is caught in any fraudulent activities, then he will be penalized under sections 3 and 7 of the Essential
Commodities Act," he said.

If the vigilance committee, which will comprise of police patils, sarpanch, educated women and youth, is found to be involved in dereliction of duties, then the tehsildars have been ordered to complain about it to the district collectors, he said.

The state would require 44 lakh metric tons of foodgrain every year, which would cost around Rs 10,000-11,000 crore to the government, he said.

"There are seven crore beneficiaries in the state among various categories like below poverty line (BPL) and Antyodaya," Kapoor said.

The state government would build another 6,000 ration shops for better implementation of the scheme. "At present, we have 52,400 rationing shops. We have already allotted 300 shops," the official said.

The state government has also undertaken the programme to build 235 godowns in the state, he said, adding that so far 32 godowns have been built and by this yearend another 143 would be built. The remaining ones would be built next year.
